Homemade Protein Bar Recipe, No Bake S’mores
Forget protein balls, these No Bake Bars have entered the chat and we are not mad about it. My mouth is watering just thinking about this S’mores Homemade Protein Bar Recipe. I would stop typing to go get some if we didn’t down them already. Sheesh. I doubled the batch last time and we ate them twice as fast. So just know, doubling the recipe is not a bad idea.
My little boy loves marshmallows, or “marsh melons” as he calls them. Does anyone else not correct their kids when they say stuff wrong because they think it’s cute? He’s always trying to add “marsh melons” to things so I decided to take my peanut butter protein bar recipe and turn them into s’mores protein bars. I have to warn you though, they are so addicting. We can’t get enough over here.
What makes these Homemade Protein Bar Recipe chewy?
Ok, the marshmallows give these bars that nice chewy texture but I went a step further. I chopped them up into little squares and then froze them before we left on a road trip. When I pulled them out of the freezer and tried them. Holy cow y’all. Who knew frozen marshmallows were that good? I’m not even a huge fan of marshmallows but these are so dang good! You have to try freezing them but don’t skip out on cutting them into little pieces because they freeze perfectly to where you can pull them right out and eat them. If they are in big squares, they become too hard.
Is it cheaper to make your own Homemade Protein Bars?
I have found it to be much more cost efficient to use my homemade protein bar recipe rather than buying remade bars. Not only is it cheaper, but I can control the ingredients, the size (anyone else’s kid eat half of a big one and then the rest is wasted?), and most importantly, the taste!
